So I went ahead with my ‘what works?’ and I did google, fb and twitter shares, fb likes and shares and I didn’t see any particular change in my sales. In fact, I hardly sold a book the whole of April. I quizzed other authors about it and apparently, March and April were bad months for sales. Maybe I should try this experiment later in the year. My sales were abysmal for those months as were everyone else’s. But it is a universal phenomenon. After these two months my sales picked up. People supposedly pick up new books for the summer as beach reads.
I can attest to that since we did an summer event last year for beach reads and my sales soared. So use the hashtag #beachreads on all your platforms and you have a shot at sales. Let me know how it works for you.
